Bridgwater: Low-Pressure Roof Wash FAQ
Q: Can you guarantee my clay tiles won't break?
A: Because old clay is so fragile and often degraded by years of moss growth, we cannot give a 100% guarantee against breakage. If we believe a wash is too risky for your specific tiles, we will advise a manual scrape and biocide treatment instead, which is a safer, water-free alternative.
Q: Are there any risks of water ingress during the clean?
A: There is a slight risk of minor leaks if there are pre-existing structural issues. If our initial inspection suggests your Bridgwater roof has failed flashing or brittle felt, we will recommend a manual scrape and biocide application rather than a low-pressure wash.
Q: Why are there still marks left after you’ve finished washing?
A: The low-pressure wash is the "clean," but the biocide treatment applied afterward is the "cure." It targets the deep-rooted black spots (algae) that have lived in the pores of the tile where the protective layer has worn away.
Q: How often will I need to have my Bridgwater roof cleaned?
A: With our low-pressure method, you can expect the roof to stay clean for 2 to 4 years.
Q: How do I stop moss from returning to my roof?
A: We recommend our Roof Care Plan. It is a regular maintenance service that keeps the biocide levels high enough to prevent moss spores from ever taking root on your Bridgwater property again.
Q: When can my dog go back into the garden?
A: Please wait at least 2 hours after the biocide has been applied. We want to ensure the treatment is fully dry and safe for all Bridgwater pets.
